From Thursday 1st September 2022 a brand-new food & drink directory will be launching on the Pershore Patty website.

The alias ‘Pershore Patty’ was created by Croome dweller (near Upton-upon-Severn and Pershore in Worcestershire), Victoria Richardson, in January 2017 as a platform and food blog to showcase the best of our local food & drink places in and around the Three Counties. Over the past 5 years Victoria has become well-known in the local area for recommending hidden gems and supporting quality restaurants, food & drink shops, bars & pubs, hotels and being a ‘go to’ authority for like-minded food enthusiasts on where’s good to try next.

Victoria introduced a new discount card named ‘The Foodie Card’ in 2018 to encourage people to support their independents, which rewarded cardholders with an exclusive special offer or perk. Unfortunately, due to the impact the pandemic had on the hospitality industry, the popular discount card came to an end last year. Victoria said, “The Foodie Card was so well received by people who were as passionate about supporting local as I am, and it is with huge regret that I was unable to continue with the card due to many businesses who were not able to trade at full capacity due to government guidelines. Many restaurants were at capacity and were unable to accommodate additional customers and ceased most of their offers and promotions during this time.”

During these difficult times Victoria continued to show support by ordering takeaways from the many newly created ‘eat at home kits’ that were then being introduced. “The Pershore Patty Instagram and Facebook pages were a fantastic way to make people aware of how they could still support these businesses, even if they couldn’t or didn’t want to leave their homes. I also created useful lists which I shared on my blog to make it easier for people to find the information all in one place”, explained Victoria. In addition, the ‘Three Counties Food & Drink‘ Facebook group was a fantastic way to keep customers connected and engaged with businesses who wanted to communicate their adapted menus and business changes. The group, which now has over 8,000 local ‘foodies’ and food & drink businesses, continues to be an engaging platform where people can ask for recommendations and businesses can share their current menus, offers and news.

The idea for a new directory was born when Victoria noticed that a high level of traffic was still going to the Pershore Patty blog and website, suggesting that people are still very much looking for recommendations and ideas on where to buy their produce, go for a drink or dine out with friends and family. Victoria said, “It seemed crazy to have worked so hard over the past 5 years, to build a blog and website which is still now being visited by tens of thousands of people each month to let it just sit there. I wanted to re-introduce the business profiles, but this time without the offers, so that people can search the directory and find places local to them on a trusted site”.
