The Riverside at Aymestrey is an independent restaurant with rooms based just outside Leominster. The 16th century inn serves freshly made dishes created with locally sourced and foraged ingredients such as Herefordshire snails and trout from the River Lugg.

The restaurant relies on extensive links with local suppliers as well as The Riverside’s own kitchen gardens, orchards and smallholding with their own pigs chickens and bees. Their accolades include winning Britain’s most sustainable pub in 2022. 

The Riverside at Aymestrey’s sustainability statement outlines their commitment to helping  the environment – “Over the last few years our aim has been to create a destination in Herefordshire, that showcases what we love about our unspoilt and historic part of Britain. Our sense of food, drink and place has been developed to represent the regions terroir, whilst trying to remain one of the leading examples of how to achieve this in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way.”

Menus include breakfast, bar snacks, evening meals and Sunday lunch. Local ales and ciders are available in the bar alongside an impressive wine list and spirit selection. There are 9 en-suite rooms (including 3 garden lodges), for those wishing to stay and dogs are welcome.

Special events such as weddings can also be catered for with tailor made packages.
