Wye Valley Meadery Tasting

Ever wondered what Vikings were drinking when they were quaffing out of curved horn tankards? Have you ever considered what might be the oldest alcoholic beverage on Earth. Has it ever struck you that the term ‘nectar of the gods’ could be for a specific drink? If the answer to all of these is MEAD, you’d be absolutely correct! It’s an ancient, complex and delicious drink and doesn’t necessarily have to be syrupy sweet. You can tell we’re big fans of mead, can’t you?

We’re fortunate enough to have the guys from Wye Valley Meadery joining us for a mead tasting at Bottles Wine Shop in July, demonstrating their range of sparkling, still and flavoured meads while also telling you a little about the bees, the process and answering any questions that you lovely people may have for them. It’s bound to be a superb evening and we’re absolutely buzzing to see you all there (bee puns are great). We’ll be pairing the mead with some canapes as usual too!

*Bottles Wine Shop is ordinarily a very dog-friendly place to visit however we would politely request that for our tasting events, furry friends are left in the comfort of their homes!
