Forage and Feast with Rob Gould at The Looking Glass, Cheltenham
July 18 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm BST£55
Forage and Feast with Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager at The Looking Glass Cheltenham
Your foraging guided walk will last around 1.5-2 hours and will take you around an area with some distinct foraging habitats. Rob will introduce you to an interesting array of wild edibles, and whilst you walk he will explain some key principles of foraging, plus matters of safety, and will also touch on the law regarding harvesting wild food.
There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss the plants you see, including how they can be used, plus a chance to talk about any further information required, for example regarding suitable books, tools and equipment.
Afterwards you will return to The Looking Glass with Rob, where you will enjoy a multi course taster menu. Rob and Leon – the head chef – will both be on hand and will be more than happy to discuss the meal with you.
Rob had this to say –
“Having worked with the team at The Looking Glass for almost a year now, I think they can proudly stand up to their ambitious claim to ‘Showcase the best of The Cotswolds’. Everything they serve is made in house; from their freshly baked rolls & cultured butters to the elderflower vinegar, seasonal haw-sin sauce, fermented black garlic, candied foraged chestnuts and walnuts and their ever expanding range of seasonal homemade drinks. I’m so pleased to have this opportunity to work with them on this event, and hope to continue to do great new things with them over the coming months and years. Watch this space”.
Please wear suitable, sturdy footwear – you will be walking approximately 2 miles over variable ground – and dress for the weather (plus potential brushes with brambles and nettles). And don’t forget water, plus of course your camera and notebook if you wish.
