Pershore Patty Meets Richard Parker, Chef at The Fox & Hounds Lulsley to ask a few personal questions and for a general nose…

Tell me a little bit about how you came to work at The Fox & Hounds?

I’ve been at The Fox & Hounds for over a year now. Weirdly when the role came up to work alongside Graeme in the Kitchen, I recommended my brother! He works in the Industry and thought he would be a great fit for the role. However, after hearing more about the role – the freedom that came with designing the menu and using local produce, I decided to apply for it myself… and here I am!

What achievements, awards or accolades are you proud of?

Achieving the Worcestershire County Title for Best Pub & Bar at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2019 was really brilliant. I’m also proud of our Level 5 Food Hygiene Rating.

Any news announcements, or events that you’d like new and existing customers to be aware of?

Friday Bun Club is coming up soon from the 5th July! Using the brill Peter Cook Brioche Buns, we’re always experimenting different burger combos. We hosted a ‘Proper Burger Night with Lakehouse Brewery’ last year and ‘Bun Club’ is a development of that event. We’re launching a Vegan Burger to coincide with the launch of ‘Bun Club’. It involves 4 burgers each week from Noon-6:30pm on special offer with one of them being something a bit different each week – Mexican Burger, Mango Chicken Burger etc.

What makes your business unique?

I’d say the mentality around the place is pretty unique to any other place I’ve worked at. The owners and staff are really driven to make The Fox & Hounds a quality pub.
