Pershore Patty meets Ethan Waller – Owner / Head Chef at Slice Slice Baby to ask a few personal questions and for a general nose.

Tell me a little bit about how you came to own or work in your business.

Myself and my brother play rugby professionally, and we knew that eventually, the time would come where we’d have to hang up our boots and get into the real world! We both class ourselves as foodies, so we looked into opening our own food trailer, and here we are.

What achievements, awards or accolades are you proud of?

We’re a relatively new business, but our biggest achievement is probably selling out at every event we’ve taken part in so far.

Any news announcements, or events that you’d like new and existing customers to be aware of?

Along with our Pizza trailer, we’re also in the process of doing up another horse trailer which will pair with the pizza beautifully.

What makes your business unique?

We do everything from scratch, use the best local, fresh ingredients where we can, and let our dough prove for a minimum of 24 hours before every event for maximum flavour. As it stands, myself and my brother are the only two employees, so you’ll also be served by two professional premiership rugby players!

Favourite restaurant to visit if you get a night off?

HanBao or The Burger Shop in Worcester. Two very different burger places but both unbelievably good.

Last thing you watched on TV?

Chernobyl

Which person in your life do you most admire and why?

My parents for managing to raise myself and my brother!

What was the last gift you gave someone?

A free pizza at our last event

What’s your favourite smell in the whole world?

Freshly baked bread

What’s your favourite kind of sandwich?

CBLT – Chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, on some sourdough bread with a garlic mayonnaise

Who would you want to cook your last meal on earth, and why?

Gordon Ramsay, as I’ve watched alot of his videos on youtube etc, and the man can seriously cook a meal!

What is the most annoying habit that other people have?

Chewing with their mouth open, or general noisy eating. It breaks me!

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Sausage baguettes, Pancakes, Pizza. (Not in that order)

What’s your claim to fame?

Went on holiday to LA a few years back, ended up in the same bar as Spiderman, Frodo, and Leonardo Di Caprio. It was interesting!

Which food & drink business (other than your own) do you wish you had created?

Probably deliveroo, can’t imagine whoever made that is light on cash these days! Or a barbeque business as I love proper American barbeque

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Never make eye contact whilst eating a banana.

If you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be?

Austin, Texas. Huge meals, barbeque, country music. What a winner!

What’s the best thing that happened to you last week?

I went to Brussels and spent most of my time sightseeing on an electric scooter.

Name a product or service you love so much that you’d happily be that company’s spokesperson.

Adidas, I’m a weird shaped bloke and all of their clothes/shoes fit me perfectly.

As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?

Sounds stupid, but a train. Not a train driver, the train itself! I had a bit of an obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine.

What is the perfect combination of pizza toppings?

Our favourite is called “The GOAT” – Worcestershire Sausage, Carmelised onions and goats cheese. Its heaven!

What was the worst job you ever held and why?

I’ve only had one job before the pizza trailer, and that’s rugby!

Favourite band?

Not a band, but I’m a big fan of Luke Combs.

What was the last thing you ate?

An orange as I answer this interview.

Favourite cut of steak?

Sirloin.

Cook 2 minute rice in 1 min 58 seconds

The worlds desire for pizza

Any finally a question from those who are married to you…When are you coming home?
