Fettucine of crab, mussel & prawn

Belle House, Pershore

My boyfriend booked us a table at Belle House just before Christmas as he’d also been recently for lunch and said it had been brilliant. As it turned out, he was right! We had a lovely 3 course dinner, the restaurant had been refurbished and the food was really good….I was really excited about going back.

It was a Friday evening in January and we wanted to eat somewhere locally due to commitments which required us to be close to home, so my boyfriend suggested Belle House. I thought they were closed throughout the whole of January, he gave them a call and they’d actually just reopened for the New Year from 18th January and they had room for us on Friday evening.

When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to have a drink in the bar or go straight to the table. We decided to take a seat in the very tastefully and recently redecorated bar seating area, sipped on a G&T and perused the menu. The Maitre d’ served us some beetroot flavored popcorn which was gorgeous and we ordered our starters and main courses. Torn between a couple of choices we still ended up ordering the same dishes as each other, the fettuccine of crab, mussel & prawn with a tomato & bisque sauce to start followed by the flat iron steak, winter truffle risotto enoki mushrooms.

A bottle of wine ordered and now sitting in the main restaurant downstairs, the maitre d’ brought over some fresh homemade breads to the table and an amuse bouche of artichoke soup which really was excellent. The fettuccine followed shortly afterwards and looked absolutely incredible. It tasted every bit as good as it looked, we literally could have eaten a pan full. The iron steak was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, it was served with an amazing truffle risotto and accompanied with some side vegetables. The steak dish was rich and filling but also so moreish, the meat wonderfully tender and the flavours just worked together so well.

There wasn’t any room for more food but I had seen a photo on the Belle House Facebook page earlier that day of their assiette of desserts and really wanted to give it a try. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but did manage to eat through most of the 7 puddings presented to us so beautifully on the plate. We enjoyed the dessert but both agreed that the show stopper was the seafood fettuccine, it was brilliant.

We’ve had 2 very good experiences of our recent visits to Belle House and very much looking forward to going back and recommending to friends and family.
